Two words: clean light! Throughout every space on the property is full of bright spaces with an abundance of natural light that makes this photographer’s heart happy.

The couples I work with highly value experiencing their day fully present without worry, while I capture their genuine and authentic moments. I love working at The Nest at Ruth Farms because regardless of where the spontaneous or candid moment occurs throughout the day, I know the photographs will feature even lighting and a beautiful setting in addition to the emotionally moving memory. It’s a small thing that’s one less thing to think about day-of, and that can make a big impact on your photographs!

About The Nest at Ruth Farms

There is so much heart behind The Nest at Ruth Farms, as demonstrated by the sweet family who owns and maintains it. Couples who marry here leave their signature on the back of the venue’s barn doors, which is just the sweetest!!

When I recently visited to take these photographs I was met outside by Chris, who was covered in paint and excited to show me the new chapel pews which had just been installed. He and his wife LaWanna are so passionate and excited about their property, which reflects the careful love and attention the property receives before and after wedding days.

Weddings are intricate events and it’s so important to choose a vendor team that aligns not only with your wedding aesthetic, but that you feel a sense of connection with as well!

Ceremony and Reception Locations

There are three beautiful ceremony options on this property, and every single one of them has incredible lighting for your wedding day photographs! (which is really rare, in case you were curious😉)

The Nest Chapel

The Nest Chapel is a beautiful, thoughtfully designed space with lots of space, natural light, and tiny details that contribute to its elegant feel. As a photographer, I love how much aisle space there is for your photographer and videographer team to capture the ceremony simultaneously! It’s a clean slate that is a lovely on its own, and can be even further enhanced with florals and other decor. The guest capacity for this space is 250.

Outdoor Ceremony

For a slightly larger crowd or to take advantage of seasonally beautiful weather, the outdoor ceremony option is perfect for a guest count of up to 300! The Nest at Ruth Farms rests on 36 acres of property which gives the entire venue a very serene, private feel even while outdoors.

The Nest

The reception ballroom is inside the main barn which boasts an elegant exterior that I LOVE taking sunset portraits at, a foyer, white walls, a balcony and a bridal suite! Each of these spaces is white, bright and inviting and together they accommodate up to 300 guests.

The Balcony

This space is multifunctional, and so fun to have as an option throughout the day! I love taking advantage of the view and the privacy for first looks between you and your partner. During the reception, your DJ can set up here as well giving the party more of a club type feel!

The Bridal Suite

This suite is absolutely gorgeous – but it’s also extremely functional! I love the abundance of seating throughout the space, and the fact that the bathroom isn’t visible in the mirror. This makes the bathroom the perfect place to stash belongings, and keep them out of the way for perfect getting ready pictures!

The Groom’s Suite

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve walked into the second suite at a venue and felt sad for that partner. Unfortunately, the quality between the two suites can often be so different! I’m happy to report that isn’t the case here. This suite features more natural light, comfy seating and two flat screen TVs to entertain before the ceremony time. I also love that this suite is attached to the chapel while the other is part of the reception hall. This helps eliminate any accidental sightings between you and your partner on wedding morning!

The Entry

When guests walk in to The Nest, this entryway will be their first impression! The table and bar setup is perfect for welcome signs, florals, or any decorations part of the wedding vision.

The Back Patio

The Back Patio is a beautiful, multipurpose space for the wedding day! Couples can host their cocktail hour here, and guests can grab a breath of fresh air during the reception. I have also always been grateful to have this option on rainy wedding days! It allows us to take beautiful outdoor portraits with natural lighting without subjecting you to the elements.
