Sara and Karl’s classic lakeside wedding was magic.
There’s just no other way to say it – this was an absolutely incredible day!! From what may possibly be my favorite bridesmaid dresses ever, to clean white florals and Sara’s minimal style… The entire wedding day at Lake Tyler Petroleum Club was the epitome of elegance.
The periodic chance of rain the entire day kept everyone on their toes, so I was unbelievably grateful Sara and Karl chose to do a private first look with each other before the ceremony. Trust me, it’s worth the scroll to see Karl’s face!
When you’re an Aggie couple, the number of important rings increase from three to five😉
I feel the need to make you aware of one more thing before you continue reading this blog – that Sara was highly organized when planning her big day and it made the entire wedding feel effortless. I’ve honestly never seen a bride be more on time throughout the day than she was, which gave her time to be relaxed and in the moment as the day moved around her!
When Sara confided in her bridesmaids that she planned to gift Karl this journal full of the prayers she’d been making for herself and her husband since the summer of 2018, I’m pretty sure there wasn’t a single dry eye in the room!
Pro tip: doing a first look allows your girls to spend a little less time in their dresses and a little more time in their robes sipping mimosas. They’ll thank you later!!
After silently (and tearfully!) reading the letters they’d written to one another, these two were ready for their first look!
Yes, I did in fact cry while editing those moments. I can’t handle Karl’s expression seeing his bride for the first time!
I recognize that as someone who had her own wedding at Lake Tyler Petroleum Club, I may be a bit biased when I say it’s my favorite venue… But LOOK AT THESE VIEWS. Rain or shine, Lake Tyler is the most beautiful backdrop!
If you’re looking through these and wishing you could be either Sara or Karl in this moment because they basically make you want to die of cuteness, then same.
This is quite literally, the most perfect dip I have ever seen a couple do on their wedding day. Thank you for setting the standard, Sara and Karl!
Aaaaand this was the last portrait we got before the rain began… But one of the perks of doing a first look is that regardless of the weather the rest of the day, we have most of the important photos done early!
Mint to be photobooth is the cutest addition to any wedding day!
I love getting a few quiet moments before the ceremony begins to sneak in some extra photos of the reception details… Sara’s centerpieces were so classic and elegant! The combination of candlelight, white florals and gold accents created a cozy and relaxing aesthetic!
This seems like the perfect time to shout out the incredible job Primrose Flower Emporium did with the florals! I had never seen baby’s breath used this way for an arch, but I’m in love!
When the pastor mentions that it’s clear prayer works because the sun came out just in time for the ceremony, and that deserves a first pump from the bride!
Later in the evening after dinner, we snuck out of the reception for just a few minutes to capture a few extra portraits! I’m obsessed with the one above!
“Show me the rings” because these two are so goofy and fun!
I can’t be 100% sure, but I think Sara is warning Karl here that cake smashing into the face won’t be tolerated…
… And like the smart husband he already is, everyone played nice😇
Several hours of dancing later, these two shared their last dance together privately on the dance floor. I love this tradition!
The sparkler exit had to be cancelled due to the downpour outside, so these two made the mad dash through the rain to their limo outside while their friends and family cheered! I think my favorite part of these photos is the reveal of Sara’s reception footwear. She gave her feet a break by rocking her bridal-white sneakers the whole evening!
This was the third wedding I’ve had the pleasure of capturing at Lake Tyler Petroleum Club, and it’s an absolute joy every time. If you’re getting married there, please hire me!! I am obsessed! But even if you’re getting married somewhere else, still reach out… I’m always down to make some new favorites!
A special thank you to all the vendors who made this incredible day possible!
